Libby Salvia, instructor

Libby Salvia started dancing at age 9 and by 19, she had turned professional and begun her musical theater career right here in St. Louis at the MUNY; "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Guys & Dolls"(Kansas City Starlight), "Evita" (Kansas City Starlight), "Funny Girl", "South Pacific", "The Wizard of Oz" and the world premiere of "White Christmas". Soon after, Libby returned to her hometown of Chicago, IL to continue her dance studies primarily with Hubbard Street and Joel Hall. During her 4 busy years in Chicago, Libby also studied opera, became a soloist with TOUCH dance co. and received several Pilates Certifications. She launched the Pilates program for the New City YMCA in Chicago, IL. (largest and highest-grossing YMCA in Chicago). Since returning to St. Louis in the year 2000, Libby has attended Webster University as a Dance Major, owned and operated her own Pilates Studio for two years, performed with STAGES St. Louis; "Sweet Charity", "La Cage aux Folles" and "Hello Dolly!", choreographed for the Shakespeare Festival of St. Louis, New Jewish Theater and Echo Theater in addition to being a faculty member of several area studios including, Kari James Dance Network, STAGES Performing Arts Academy, COCA, On Your Toes and Renee Johnson's Dance & Tumbling Studio. When Libby is not performing, teaching or choreographing around St. Louis, she travels the country as an adjudicator for International Dance Challenge.
